Dorian Update

Dear Missionaries,

The more hurricane Dorian moves north, the better the news gets.  The storm is now downgraded to a level 2 storm and is predicted to become a level 1 storm by the time it approaches North Carolina.  Of course, a level 1 storm is still serious.

Right now, predictions are that we will see advanced wind and rain starting Thursday afternoon, with the bulk of the storm hitting early Friday morning, but then moving quickly out of the area.  That is all more good news.

So, for now, the plan is to have you stay tuned for a possible instruction to shelter in place (stay in your apartments) Thursday afternoon/evening through Friday morning.  This instruction may go to the whole mission, or only to parts, depending on the pattern that develops.  As always, if the storm takes a dramatically different turn, and it always can, we will give you a signal to move to your “safe houses.”  But, this does not seem likely at this time.

Our prayers are being answered.

Stay safe. Be wise.  I love you.

President Holland
