1 new bike + 9 stiches= $450

Kimball has outgrown the kids bikes, and so I decided she needed a new bike before school get's out. With the new park and splash pad only a mile from our house we will be biking all summer long. This works out great since Kody's bike is bent behind repair after being left behind the wheel of daddy's truck (no one claims to know how it got there). Although we will have to paint it green to replace the purple, it is a win-win situation. Kimball and her friend Erin went on a ride to the park (her first time ever going alone) to break in her new bike. She was watching her friend instead of the road and crashed into an electrical box. She split her finger open from front to back. They went to a neighbors house and called home for help. 9 stitches later, she is on the bike again. Lucky for us it wasn't worse, and she is still enjoying her new bike.

Track and Field Day.

Grace, Kody and I had a great time watching Kimball compete at her track meet. She ran the 50 meter, 200 meter and did the standing long jump. Great job Kimball!

Easter

Image
We spent the weekend with the entire Woodstock family for Easter. This may be the last time we are all together for a while since both Scott and Jamen leave for the Army in the next few months. Jaden and Kody love their cousins. The kids favorite part of the egg hunt was the Easter egg trading afterward. Sunday, we had a wonderful turkey dinner and a lesson on the resurrection. Last, but not least, grandma displayed and awarded certificates to the kids for their Easter eggs they colored the day before. All the grand kids (minus one-Katie announced she was expecting). We went with Jamen and Krista's family to the Aquarium in Sandy. It would have been great if we wouldn't have gone during spring break. There were so many people, but the kids still had a good time. Jaden loved touching the stingrays. What a fun weekend!

3 very important things!

Image
Jaden came into my room this morning while I was making my bed and offered to help. As he was putting the pillows on the bed he said "mom, I know 3 very important things. Family, love and prayer." "Yes, I said, those are very important things." What a lucky mom I am!

The mysterious voice in the dark

We were only into the first mile of our 12 mile run this morning when this conversation commenced between my running partner SuLynn and I. Remember we are in the middle of nowhere and it is dark at 5 a.m. her: Did you hear that? me: It sounded like a horn. 1 minute later... her: Do you hear that?! (she looks up at the mountain) me: Maybe it's a cow. her: It's not a cow! 30 seconds later... her: Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! she grabs me by the arm and we sprint to the other side of the road. me: What's going on!?!? her: Someone just said hello to me! we are sprinting as fast as we can because we can still hear him talking. Just then I hear someone say hello and we both think we are being chased. me: I don't see anyone We are still booking it. 30 seconds later... her: It's your phone!!!! (she wears a pack around her waist that we carry my phone in) me: It's a flip phone it can't be calling anyone it's not open. We slow down still nervous to stop running. 30 secon
