Brianna's Bridal Shower

Since Brianna wanted a bridal shower in St. George, I offered to host. The lemon theme turned out great, and Brianna got some wonderful gifts to start out her married life.

Live Boldly

Tender mercy: Sister Cobb and I began talking about how much we wanted pizza and a member took us to get pizza for dinner. I met John and Linda for the first time today. I am beginning to realize how incredibly bold I can be as a missionary in talking about Christ. I hope to be that way my whole life. Live boldly! You'll find you're more accepted by others than you so thought.  I was extremely bold in asking John question after question about his relationship with God. And then the Spirit continued to guide me in boldly testifying of truth after truth. It took the past sisters serving him once every week to him now inviting us back to his home tomorrow to share his/our beliefs. Don't try to play out the conversation in your mind. Let it play out in front of you. The Spirit truly will guide. I'm excited for us to share the Book of Mormon with him tomorrow. :)

I Accept Every Effort

I can feel that Heavenly Father is trying to teach me so much in one simple sentence: "I accept every effort". Each and every effort we give is celebrated in heaven, truly it is. I met the Brother and Sister Scott today. They both were recently released as a senior couple for the NCRM and are still very much involved in the work.  Oh, how I love the sweet gentle nature of Sister Cobb. She is so refreshing and truly such a beautiful daughter of God. I want to remember that hugs are her love language and make sure to give her one each day. She is right out of training. I am have only been out 3 months longer than her. We are both adjusting to missionary life. We are both working through anxieties. We are helping one another to turn to our Savior. We had a Book of Mormon study at the Scott's home tonight. I met Justin (a self referred recent convert) and Amelia Elizabeth (who led the Book of Mormon discussion). It felt so wonderful to be uplifted by the lesson someone

Kimball's Lullaby

Breckan sent me the piano version of Kimball's Lullaby today. I absolutely loved it! She composes beautiful music. :) Today I got to meet Miss Liz and Cynthia who are both friends of the church. As well as Sister Sutherland who is our safe house. There are already hurricanes headed our way and I'm honestly so excited about it! My mom is most likely freaked out that I am in the area of North Carolina that gets hit the worst, but I'm pumped! I know we will be protected and I also know there are going to be some incredible service opportunities from this. I met the Jacksonville district today and they are all fantastic. The other sisters (J2) are really bubbly and fun. And Elder Forrest a.k.a. the missionary version of my brother Kody is in my district! He reminds me of my brother everytime I see him. Same personality and everything! I had a moment today as I thought about Kody. And I suddenly saw him on his mission and wow! He is going to be an incredible missionary. He is go

Jacksonville and Sister Cobb

Sister Naomi Cobb is my new companion and I love her so much! She kind of reminds me of a mix between Casidee Coombs and Emma Simpson, yet completely her own person. Two of my best friends in one human, wow! I am in the J3 Swansboro area. Same area that Sister Summer Smith was in before Pinehurst. Maybe I'll just end up in all the same places as her!  Sister Cobb is so gentle, spunky, peaceful, and altogether a kindred spirit. How incredible that Heavenly Father divinely places companionships. I am realizing that YOU HAVE NEVER KNOWN SOMEONE LONG ENOUGH TO STOP GETTING TO KNOW THEM.  That includes my companions who I am with 24/7. That includes my future spouse who I will be sealed for eternity with. That includes my Savior who I have been striving to learn from my whole life.  Swansboro is right on the beach which means hurricane season will be fun! It would be a blast to be sent to Pinehurst to stay during the hurricane. Oh, I hope that happens if it is in line with what Heaven

So the week was chill y'all We had some cool lessons with some cool people and members and stuff. Dudes one of the lessons was with Norman and he's been studying the Book of Mormon every day. HE SAID HE BELIEVES ITS TRUE!! AND THAT HE WOULD GET BAPTIZED!! we shall set a date soon. Send all the prayers. OH MY GOSH THERE WAS A HUGE SPIDER IN THE CHURCH (and on the side of the road ahhahahaah) WE NAMED HIM BRUCE.  I AM SO GLAD SISTER WASTLUND WEARS THE PANTS AND PUT THAT SPOOKY BOI UNDER A CUP. We were gonna teach him about the Restored Gospel but figured he wouldn't be very receptive to it given that we trapped him in a cup. Alma 29:13 Yea, and that same God did establish his church among them; yea, and that same God hath called me by a holy calling, to p

Grace got her Ruby ring

Image
When our kids turn 12 years old they receive a ruby ring to remind them to always be virtuous. We discuss marriage between a man and a woman and how to keep yourself pure. She was not excited to have me take her picture as you can tell.

Happy 12th Birthday Grace

Grace invited her entire beehive class to join her for a movie night to celebrate her birthday.  We also had the family over for Sunday dinner.  We love having this little woman in our house,  Grace has sure become a woman this year. Period and all!:)

Welcome Home Elder Sullivan

Ben served faithfully in the Spain Madrid mission for 2 years.  The Sullivan's were nice enough to invite us to be there at the Las Vegas airport when his plane landed.
