Locked out

I am finally posting this a month later... I spent 40 minutes frantically trying to get in my house today after my two year old Taylor locked me out. I was carrying groceries in and was coming back in with another load to find the door locked with Taylor inside.  Just last week I had taken the spare key inside until I found another safer spot to hide it. My purse containing my cell phone I had deposited on the counter with the groceries. I tried to explain to her how to unlock the door but she just couldn't get it.  A police officer randomly showed up at just that moment, and I though to myself "Someone has already called child protective services?" He was just delivering some papers to one of Garrett's employee's. I explained the situation and asked to use his cell phone to call my husband...no answer, I left a message and then handed him back his phone, and...he drove off!!! I was kind of stunned.  Aren't police officers supposed to help with situations li

Blue and Gold Banquet

Garrett is Jaden's scout leader and was in charge of invites this year.  So... I got to help. I think they turned out very cute! Good thing I enjoy doing this kind of thing, or he would be in big trouble!:)  The boys looked online and chose a cake they wanted to make.  It was actually very fun working with them, and I think they had a good time! Thanks to all you dedicated scout leaders, the night was great!

Finally someone else can do hair!

I came home the other day and Kimball had done her hair and both of the little girls hair as well! And it is actually better than I can do.  It is so nice to have someone to share the load, and maybe now they won't come to church looking like little orphaned girls when mommy has early morning meetings and daddy is in charge of getting them there!

Sledding

We had the day off of school on Presidents Day, and the Coombs invited us to go sledding with them in Cedar.  The weather was beautiful and so we decided to go even though daddy had to work.  I may re-think taking 5 children on my own next time.  Thankfully my mom kept Taylor at her house while we sledded.  Once we got the snow compacted the kids had a blast.  Sulynn even gave me all of these pictures she took with her new camera.  I love the picture quality and may have to be purchasing one of my own if I can't find my camera. Jaden pegged everyone with a snowball, and Trevor finally got him back at the end! Love how it stuck in his ear!

Growing Up

I will try to hide this post somewhere in the middle so Kimball isn't too mortified, but who wants to forget this! Kimball started her period last night. 4 weeks after her 12th birthday.  She is definitely becoming a young woman! 2 nights previous she woke up with a migraine in the middle of the night and threw up because it hurt so bad. Just like I used to do poor girl! Then yesterday she complained all day that her stomach hurt, and just laid on the tramp while we were fixing bikes to go on a bike ride for family night.  She opted to stay home with dad while I took a few of the other kids to the park to ride.  Garrett called me on our way home and said "are you almost home? Kimball is in the bathroom waiting for you, she just started her period."  I guess she got up from the trampoline and felt wet all over her pants.  She ran to the bathroom and was covered in blood.  She called for dad, who brought her a pad and explained to her how to use it, and that she would blee

Happy #12 Kimball

Celebration #1  So just as my mom made me wait until I was 12 to get my ears pierced, I made Kimball.  Sort of a right of passage into young woman's! The week before her birthday she took her friends Casidee and Katie to Walmart with her as her moral support, and she got her ears pierced. She loves them!  Celebration #2 Kimball was going to invite her friends who had already turned 12 to the temple to do baptisms for the dead with her, but the baptistery is booked clear until May. She is going with our ward in Just a few weeks and so she invited these friends to hang out last minute instead.  They watched "Watcher in the Woods" an old favorite from when I was her age. Still scares me! Celebration #3 Since Taylor and Kimball's Birthday are only a week apart we invited the family over to celebrate. Kimball got a Twix pudding cake (her favorite candy).  G&G Woodstock gave Kimball this chocolate rose along with a gift certificate for dinner out to Samuri
