Impromptu Dance Recital

Image
Kimball and her friends decided to have a dance recital. They even made and passed out invitations. They practiced their dances and designed costumes. The entire circle was invited to the private showing (held in our front yard). Refreshments were served. A Popsicle FRENZY! The boys even did a a pyramid act during the costume change! Overall...a great performance!

Summer Vacation...Day 1

Image
We started summer off with a splash...literally! We were in the water from noon-5. We pulled out our wonderful water slide (yes!...it is going to make it through a 3rd summer) and had a great time with Kraig, Brenda and their family in the backyard. We then packed it up and headed for Grandma and Grandpa's pool, for 2 more hours of swimming, sandwiches and sun. The only casualty of the day was grandma's cell phone. She jumped in the water (clothes and all) and pulled it out of her pocket 5 minutes later. See what the wonderful men in our lives do for us, so we can enjoy ourselves! What a fun day!!! Summer will continue with a long awaited camping trip this weekend. We were disappointed last weekend after not being able to find a camping site for 50 miles (they are all reserved until the end of September). We crashed grandpa and grandma Wastlund's backyard for some yummy dutch oven dinner. I made some delicious dutch oven beans if I do say so myself :). We will be tr

Saturday morning May 16th, 2009 , our alarms went off at 4:00 a.m. We already had everything laid out and were ready to go at 4:30. My dad dropped us off at that bus pickup and we were loaded and on our way up the canyon by 5:00. I loved listening to all of the stories around me from seasoned marathon runners, it helped to calm my nerves. Once at the top we gathered around the fire pits in the 28 degree weather, and made our visits to the porta potty's. 30 minutes to race time we stood in the potty lines one more time (which were very long) and then threw all of our unwanted clothing into the back of the u haul and headed to the starting line. Our toes were so frozen we couldn't feel them for the first two miles( we would be wishing for frozen toes again around mile 17). We stood at pace marker 10 and waited for 7:00 and the gun to sound. Off it went, and we didn't start moving for a few minutes. 5 minutes later we were finally at the start line and on our way.
