My big brother

Image
Taylor and Jaden have a very sweet relationship. He is always waiting to get her out of bed in the morning, and asks me all day long "mom, can I have Taylor?" I love this little break he gives me throughout the day. Look at those two little faces, I can't tell who loves who more.

Taylor Tries Food

Image
Taylor tried barley cereal today. She didn't love it, but was getting the swallowing down by the end. Jaden and Kody were totally grossed out. They each took a turn feeding her, but as soon as they got some on their hand they were done. It was so funny seeing their faces! Grace on the other hand, has no reservations about being dirty and would have fed her all day.

Happy Birthday Garrett!

Image
I told a little fib and got Garrett's truck away from him for the day so I could surprise him for his birthday. I don't think it has been cleaned since he bought it 7 years ago. I cleaned it inside and out, had the leather seats and dash treated, washed the floor mats and bought a new steering wheel cover. Then I put our song playing on the CD player so when he left for work the next morning it would be playing. He loved it! :) Garrett chose Hawaiian haystacks for his birthday dinner, and we had the family over for a quick dinner. I love you sweetie!

Boys

So I walked into my room today and Jaden and Kody were hiding under the covers of my bed. I pulled them back and asked what they were doing. Their response..."We were all sweaty from jumping on the tramp, and your bed cools us off. " GROSS! two sweaty boys in my bed. I guess they like our cool sheets. I had to explain that this would only make them hotter and to NEVER do that again, and then I put the sheets in the washer!

Father's Day

I am so thankful for my sweet, hardworking husband. He is my best friend and I can't imagine my life without him! We let daddy have a 2 hour nap and made him a yummy dinner. Then the kids and I stocked Garrett up with everything he needs for the summer games this weekend. We love you Daddy!

Summer Vacation

Image
We are tight on money this year and so we got creative for our summer vacation. We found this cute little family cabin in Richfield at a KOA. Now that is my idea of camping. Showers, swimming pool, pedal bikes and only 30 minutes from Cove Fort and the Manti Pageant (both of which are free). The kids had a great time! We did some hiking, Swimming, biking, and lots of eating. We would highly recommend the ice cream parlor in Manti. Awesome homemade cream filled doughnuts. We had our spot saved 31/2 hours before the Pageant started. Once the sun went down we froze our behinds off! Funny Story- We decided to leave the pageant a little early to miss the traffic. Garrett took the boys and a load of stuff back to the car and then was going to come back and help me get the rest. Kimball and I decided we could pack up both sleeping girls and the rest ourselves and meet them. Well, we got to the car and the door was locked and no one was there. Then I heard voices and Jaden pops

Sewing

Image
This was my Christmas gift and I made a goal that this would be the year that I would learn to use it. Well...Since being released as primary president and being called as the nursery music leader (how fun is that! :)) I have a lot more free time. So... I completed my first project! An apron with pockets to help with singing time. Of course my mother was crucial to this project, and I did sew a pocket on upside down, but I am well on my way. I love seeing all of the little nursery kids whispering to their parents "that's the singing lady" and run up and give me hugs before I say goodbye. It was worth every stitch to see their little smiling faces. Thanks mom!

2nd annual Summer Social

Image
Last year Kimball and a few of her friends put together an impromptu dance recital. This year her and her friend Kimberly decided to do it again as a summer social. They made invites and performed a dance. Other neighborhood kids helped with jokes and magic tricks. The neighbors were invited to bring their lawn chairs and come watch. We have such fun neighbors, and if we weren't moving would make this an annual event. We sure will miss the neighborhood! Grace was so upset that she couldn't dance with with Kimball, but ended up joining the routine anyway. Then it was a dance free for all. The "Ice Cold Lemonade" was a big hit! :)

Guess who is potty trained?!?

Image
Grace! Hooray! We did it before she turned 3. She is not accident free, but she is in underwear and not going back! She went to church in underwear on Sunday and even earned a Barbie for 3 days of pooping in the potty. The goal is accident free by the end of the summer.

Memorial Day

Image
We went with Grandma and Grandpa Woodstock to visit Grandpa Church's grave this year. I explained to my kids the real reason we celebrate Memorial Day, and hope to make this a yearly tradition. We went to a park on the way home and ate some of Grandpa Church's favorite treats with our lunch. Taylor had a wonderful Day!

Last Day of School

Image
I met the kids walking home from school and we had a snack and played to commemorate their last day of school. Grace is so excited to have her brothers and sister home to play with for the entire summer.
