The Cabin- A Home for Grandma and Grandpa

Image
We purchased a beautiful lot on 400 East in Pine Valley with the hopes of building  a carriage house for Gun and Lesly to live in, and eventually a cabin for us.  Gun and Lesly had paid for plans, engineering and were just waiting for approval from the water conservancy district to begin building.  It was then we found out that the owner of the land had illegally subdivided the lot and we could not build on it. After a lot of cost and heartache, they bought it back, and we were again on the lookout for a home in Pine Valley. At this point Kimball and Ben were going to be moving into the Casita, and we needed a home for Gun and Lesly soon. Grace is a teen! 13 to be exact. She invited some friends over to "party like a pineapple". Kimball was a trooper and did all of their hair and nails. This is Kody's Senior year, Grace is in 8th grade beginning middle school, Taylor is in 5th grade, and Hinckley is in 2nd. Hinckley (with mom's help from home over her phone) is managing her own diabetes this year. We have come a long way. Jaden is working full time for Garrett and saving for a mission, and Kimball is also working while Ben goes to school full time. I sure love all my kiddos! UPDATE: Hinckley forgot to bring her water bottle to school one day the 3rd week of school.  She called almost in tears and asked me to bring it in.  All of the drinking fountains have been turned off because of the pandemic, and unless you bring a water bottle you are without water the entire day.  It is
