Kody the Comedian

Image
I just had to tell you how much I love my little Kody! He has such an innocent spirit, and says the cutest things sometimes. On Monday for family home evening activity the kids wanted to watch one of our old Disney movies. Kody ran upstairs to choose one and came down a minute later and asked if we could watch "green boogers" and held up the movie "Flubber". We laughed about that one for a while. Today I told Kody to get his shoes on so we could run to Walmart. I know I have been running to much when he says "Do we have to run to Walmart, can't we drive"? Little moments like that just make being a mom worthwhile.

Gotta love Girls Night!

Image
I have been lucky enough to have two nights out with the girls this month. Earlier with a few friends from Santa Clara(Barb, Christin, Christina). We laughed till I had tears in my eyes. I won't disclose the conversation, but it was great to have a night away. Last night was a last minute "get away before we go crazy night" with some friends from this side of town (Jolynn and SuLynn). Yes...I made our waiter take a picture. We had a great dinner at Iggy's (one of my favorites) and then hit Target (another of my favorites). The best part of the evening was coming home and finding my dishes done and the last laod of laundry started. Even my husband knew I needed a night off. I couldn't ask for better friends (husband included)! I'm the luckiest girl around.

Gracie's High Climbing Adventures!

Image
Uh oh! I'm in trouble again! Wouldn't it be great if the reason all of my chairs and bar stools are always up on the table was because I love to scrub my floors every day? Ya right!!! My chairs are up on my table because I have a daughter who can climb anything! Grace has now figured out that she can push chairs around the house and get to whatever she wants. It took me four children, but I finally understand what mom's mean when they say they have a climber. I often find her sitting in the kitchen sink, and she has now attempted climbing the outside of the banister all the way up the stairs(I didn't get a picture of that one...I was trying to save her life :)). Yes she has fallen a few times, but she gets right back up. What can a worried mommy do? I can't wait till this stage is over.

Smell the Roses.

For all of you who know how much I love roses, you can imagine how excited I was to find a rose background for Valentines day. Yes...I know it is not even February, but I have to make it last as long as I can. It's a bit gaudy, but doesn't that just sum up the holiday!?

I did it!!!!!!

No the ambulance in the back is not for us! Yesterday I ran in and finished the Saint George Half Marathon! It was a great run for me (better than the Enterprise 10K) and although my knee was sore and I was exhausted the last few miles, I would definitely do it again. I may have to think twice about a marathon though! We'll see come October. The course is now an official qualifying course for the Boston half marathon, so it was chip timed (very interesting). There were over 1700 runners. I kept wondering why the heck we were wearing numbers, they didn't even use them. It was great seeing my family and friends at the finish line! And thanks SuLynn for sticking with me through all of our runs! My Husband was in charge of the pictures so I didn't get many...love you Garrett! I don't know how many I want you to see anyway (You just can't make a fat body look skinny!) Don't go into long distance running for the weight loss, I have gained weight since we

Cold remedies ...Quick!!!

Wednesday I felt a cold coming on and started popping garlic and vitamin C. This morning I woke up with a full blown cold. Help, I have to run the half marathon tomorrow. I am running no matter what, but would like it to be a positive experience. Any quick cure ideas?

Nothing much going on!

The new year has been uneventful (which is wonderful), but I thought I should let everyone know I am still around. My next post will have a picture of me crossing the finish line of the St. George half marathon next Saturday (that is if I make it)! We have been training hard, but I am still fighting a hurt knee from when I passed out last month. I was hurting pretty bad after our twelve mile run last week, but had a great run this morning. Hurt knee or not I am doing it. See you at the finish line!

Happy New Year!

My first day of the new year started out wonderful. Grace who is usually awake at 6:30 when I get home from my runs, slept in until 9:00. I actually had time to update my blog and have some time to myself. The church building that we forgot to reserve for the primary activity on Saturday was still available!!! Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles (yes I was singing when I found out). My prayer this morning must have worked, oh the tender mercies of the Lord! :). If the year keeps going like this I can't go wrong. Wishing all of you a fabulous year also!

A Very Woodstock Christmas!

The drive to Ogden was long. We had a crack in our windshield that spread clear from one side to the other by the end of the drive. It made our windshield frost over, and we had a hard time seeing the road. The kids were fabulous though. Grace hardly made a sound, and the "bubble yum" kept the kids blowing bubble's for a long time (everyone even kept it in their mouths). Ogden was a world of white and we had a blast. We used Grandma's "snowman kit"and built a snowman, and then found a great sled park. The kids would have stayed forever if we let them. Even the big boys had fun! Scott went down the hill with all the little boys on his back. When he got back to the top his face and glasses were frosted over from a face full of snow the entire way down. We love you Scott and so do your nephews! Kimball wrote a Christmas eve program complete with music, clowns, announcer and nativity. Check out our version of a donkey (PST..it's Scott)!
