The gathering of Israel train

Why are we not ALL JUMPING onto the Gathering Israel Train?! The entire Day Family (parents, 6 kids, and a friend) came to church this week. It turns out they already were close friends with 3 families in the ward. Amanda Day coaches baseball twice a week with 2 of the families, they invite one another's kids to parties, and the other family has known Amanda Day (the mom) since she was 13. How incredible is that?! Fellow-shipping already built-in. I was so very excited about that and at the same time my heart broke a bit as Amanda told us that she said, "oh, I didn't know she was a member of the same church".  Excuse me? What?!? Bare with me as I vent a bit. It suddenly hit me how many families in the church are like this! They are surrounded all the time by people who are seeking the gospel, but "know not where to find it". We NEED to be opening our mouths about our religion, our beliefs, our Savior MORE. Everyone we know should know that we are

Easter & the Samples

"Kimball is still in Pinehurst serving with her trainer Sis. Smith.  She is learning the importance of communication with her companion.  She has also been very low energy, and we are getting some vitamin supplements sent to her.  We have a history of low blood sugar and anemia in our family.  We both feel good that it will help.  Kimball was able to sing a beautiful arrangement of "Savior, Redeemer of My Soul" at a fireside the missionaries put on.  They also sang at Zone conference and transfers.  She sent me these cute pictures of her Easter on a Facebook post from her dinner with the Samples family.  Her and her companion Sis. Smith found a family of 8 they are teaching right now.  The "Day" Family.  They knocked on the door, and she invited them right in. They have had another discussion since then, and are hoping to set their baptism for 4 weeks from now before June 4th when sister Smith is transferred." -Mom Kimball's Le

The mission is seriously a roller coaster. It feels like it is constantly changing. One second I feel like I'm on track to becoming the missionary the Lord wants me to be and the next I feel so far to ever becoming that missionary or person in general and don't feel like I ever will be. Which I know is bad news bears indeed! I'm trying to find the transition from being self-critical to righteously seeking self-improvement. Nights are hard to find ways to share the gospel.  It is very dark, and we are not allowed to be out after dark. We can go "grocery store tracting", which basically means we pretend to shop and talk to people we run into, but this week we saw this awesome Indian ice cream shop (Scrollicious)and had the feeling to go inside. We of course got some ice cream. While we were eating there was a woman sitting with her two kids. I saw them and had a complete scenario run through my mind of what I would say, and what she would say in response.  Well, s

Zone Conference

Singing at Zone Conference went really well!  The future mission president of Poland asked us to sing at a missionary devotional him and his wife are doing in 2 weeks. We don't know if we will be able to though because we are bringing a friend with us.  We went on exchanges at Fort Bragg.  I had some neat experiences with the spirit telling me the names Hillary and Mary that I needed to look up, and got to go visit those people.  On a sad note, I either strained or tore my hip flexer.  I won't be able to bike this week.  Pictures- #1 I look terrible, but I wanted you to see the beautiful cherry blossom trees #2  our cheese family picture in the tree seat #3 and #4 the adorable aprons that some gals at one of our service projects each week made for us. They knew we loved them and had them specially made for us. I have mine sitting on my desk because it's one of those things that just make me so happy. We felt a reassurance that we are doing our work right b
