Raging Red

Image
We love attending Daniel's early morning performances of Dixie State College's Raging Red. They are so high energy that every single one of my kids sit there mesmerized the entire time!  Very entertaining!  And it is always better when you know one of the cast. We love uncle Daniel!  We were there by 7:30 am and the kids were only a little late for school after stopping for our traditional breakfast sandwich on the way to school. :)

Goodbye Grandpa

Image
Garrett's Grandpa Jenson had a stroke yesterday and passed on to the other side this morning! I love this picture because this is how he looked at everyone.  He was a hard working man with a huge heart. He loved his family and made sure they knew it.  We love you Grandpa,  you will be missed!

Track Meet

Image
The longest, hottest day of the year! Grace, Taylor and I were there at 9 am and didn't leave until almost 3 pm.  Yes, we are all sunburned but the boys were troopers. Kody ran the 100 and 200 along with softball throw, and Jaden ran the 50, 100 and did softball throw. Kody helped his class win the team relay, and  Jaden made it to District in the 50 and 4X100 Relay. This means another long hot day in the sun in a few weeks at the District meet. You boys are awesome! Thanks for eating lunch with me.

Reverence

This Sunday was a real doozy! It began Saturday evening when I got a call from Kody's primary teacher telling us that their class is very irreverent, and informing us that they will be starting to send the children to their parents after one warning. Then Sunday after I had ran home to get Jaden's talk (which he had left home on purpose so he could say he forgot it), a member of the primary presidency stopped me and said that Jaden and her son had been fighting. Not 30 minutes later the same member of the presidency brought Grace to me and said that she would not listen to her teacher.  Well...we had a long talk about reverence when we got home that evening!  After talking to the kids we realized a few of them were not completely to blame, but they will non the less be apologizing to their teachers next Sunday and we have made it clear that if they are ever brought to us again, there will be consequences.

Easter

Image
We went to Cedar City to visit Grandma and Grandpa Woodstock for Easter.  The barbecue was delicious, complete with mom's homemade potato salad, and then the kids went out back for an Easter egg hunt. We had fun visiting with Jace and Scott who made it down for the weekend.  Jace even humored me and went out on a blind date that I set up for him. :)  My dad's Cedar institute choirs combined with the Dixie institute choirs and performed a concert in the tabernacle that evening . They did amazing! Photo Shoot Uncle Steve took some test shots of the girls for his photo class.  Happy  Sad Angel

Announcing!

Image
We are expecting baby #6.   Due to arrive on or around October 2nd. This has been my hardest pregnancy ever!  I don't know if it is because I am just getting old and tired, or if it really is worse.  I am now 16 weeks and finally over the morning sickness (the longest it has ever lasted for me).  My blood work also came back and I am anemic.  No wonder I feel like such a tired, lazy housewife. I have also gained more weight with this baby. The baby is doing well, but I am always grateful to pass the 20 week mark after losing the last one so far along. The doctor made it a point to remind me that this is my 12th pregnancy, and said "Think about how many years you have spent pregnant!"  Thanks Dr. Lunt, it's a good thing I like you so much! I did figure it out though and if I make it to the end of this one I will have been pregnant 6 years of my life.  He also measured me again and wonders every time if I am having twins because I measure so large.  Maybe it's th

Baptisms for the Dead

Image
Kimball is now 12 and went for the 1st time with our youth group to do baptisms for the dead this month.  Since I am a YW leader I was able to be there for this special day. I could tell she was touched by the spirit. She got a bloody nose after only 3 baptisms and had to stop which was disappointing, but a great memory.  The temple workers said it happens once a session. I guess they plug their noses to hard! :) Her friend Jessica and her have a goal to go every Saturday.  Her mom and I are going to switch off driving them. They plan to walk up the street and get ice cream after where we will pick them up. I am so happy that she has a desire to do what is right!

Choir

Image
Kimball is in a special class at school that focuses on performing. They had a talent day where parents were invited to come and watch them perform.  Kimball is a beautiful singer.  She is excited to have made concert choir next year.

Pinewood Derby

Image
Jaden and Kody were both in the Pinewood derby this year.  They built the cars with their den (daddy included), and then daddy helped them paint it.  They both had fun and did a great job!  Garrett's den was in charge of refreshments!  Kody will actually still pose for pictures. Jaden is now becoming too cool for the camera just like Kimball

Happy #10 Jaden

Image
Jaden loves playing Dodge-ball at anti-gravity.  He invited a few friends and spent an hour playing before his family birthday party. He then opted for carrot cake cupcakes, his new favorite!  He has finally outgrown his bike and is now on to handle brakes and gears.  Still a little big for him, but he rides it like a pro.  And Video games are always at the top of his list!  A new basketball and T-shirt  And last but DEFINITELY not least...new socks!  I swear I buy a new package of socks every month! Only boys!! Happy Birthday to our not so little boy!  We love you!
