Blue and Gold Banquet

Image
I was recently called as the new cub master, and had an awesome time planning our Blue and Gold banquet.  The theme was "Turn Back The Clock/Resourcefulness" and I decided to do a medieval feast. What a blast! We made three cakes this year.  A castle and a fish for Jaden and Kody, and a baseball for our little neighbor boy Alex.  The night began very stressful when I arrived at the church to set up and it was closed for cleaning.  I spent the next 45 minutes trying to find an available church.  Thankfully another ward had canceled their pack meeting at a nearby chapel and it all worked out.  I was very behind schedule but thanks to my amazing husband and the other scout leaders it all worked out! The families designed their own coat of arms as they arrived(here are a few of my faves) and then we got to the feast.  The boys loved eating with their hands. I assigned the Webelos to design Sir. Cardboard of Boxley for our jousting compet

Happy Valentine's Day

Image
This was the only picture I got.  I helped in Jaden's class doing cookies, made valentine boxes and cookies with the kids.  Made a special dinner for the family, and we brought these yummy strawberries over to Grandma and Grandpa Wastlund.  I have so many people in my life that I love! It was a great day!

Happy Birthday Kimball

Image
It wasn't Kimball's year for an official birthday party, but I let her invite some friends over to hang out.  She has an amazing group of friends!

Officially a Teenager

Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10  I have wanted to give this gift for years and finally had the opportunity on Kimball's 13th birthday.   I had this ruby ring inscribed with this scripture for kimball to wear as a constant reminder to stay clean and virtuous.  Garrett and I took her to dinner and talked with her about becoming a teenager and the temptations that are sure to come. We hope she can use this ring to be an example to her friends and future dates as she explains why she wears it.  We hope that someday she can pass it down to her own daughter and tell her that she was a virtuous woman!  We love her so much and are so proud of the decisions she is making in her life.

Cousin Time

I stole Spencer for 3 days so Katie could have a break.  The girls had so much fun having him here.  They played hard and a bath was needed every night, but they slept well!

Basketball

Image
Jaden and Kody both did great this year! Kody's team was undefeated, and this is a picture of Jaden's high scoring game (he made more than half of the baskets). We love basketball, but I am very excited to have my Saturdays back now.
