Change

I have been having the impression lately that I am on my phone too much.  My goal is to set it down and get to work.  I would focus so much more on what is truly important without a constant distraction in my hand.  It is the little things that change big things...Getting a little better every day!

This is how we roll for family night activity!  No one was injured in the taking of this picture :).

Happy #9 Grace!

Image
Grace is the luckiest girl ever! I let her skip school on her birthday, and we had a picnic at the park, then went and got pedicures.  Later that night we got to meet the family for dinner at Golden Corral. I also got 50 percent off tickets to Tuacahn and grace got to invite 5 friends to go with her to see "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."  It was a little more adult oriented than I would have liked from a Disney production, but the kids didn't realize, and loved all the singing and fireworks. So thankful for my sweet Mother-in-law who accompanied me and helped with the kids.  It is so much nicer when I have a friends too. Sunday the family also came over for a birthday dinner.

YM/YW boating activity

We were so blessed to be able to combine with the 5th ward and have 15 kayaks, 3 boats pulling tubes, some standing boards, and an inflatable island.  Jamaica Hansen also came and taught sand castles.  There was plenty for the youth to do.   There was a severe weather warning that came on my phone just after arriving, but we tracked it, and it did not hit until we were packed up ready to go home 4 hours later.  A huge success!

Hard at Work

Image
All the kids but Hinckley got a job this summer.  Scott hired Grace and Taylor to pick up doggy potty every Saturday, Kody and Jaden worked at the shop for Garrett all summer, and Kimball got a job working at Downeast Outfitters.  She is hoping to continue during the school year if she does not get too overwhelmed with all her AP classes.  They are loving the money, and are busy saving for cars and missions.

Happy Anniversary to us!

The big kids all pitched in and surprised us with a basket from Kneaders for our anniversary.  Garrett also got me some new bamboo spoons and some flowers.  Breckan tended the little girls for a few hours and we got a night out for dinner too.  I sure do love this man of mine, I fall in love with him more every year!
