Merry Christmas!

Image
Merry Christmas from the Wastlund's! So we were all dressed up for church yesterday, and I decided we needed a family Christmas Picture. Of course we couldn't get the timer to work on the camera. Our home teachers showed up just in time (although Garrett hadn't remembered and forgot to tell me they were coming). They took our picture and you would think out of 7 pictures we could get one with everyone looking somewhat decent. This is the best shot! We love you all and hope you have a Wonderful Christmas!

Santa Clause Has Come To Town!

Image
Yesterday was the Jenson Family Christmas Party! Grandma Wastlund Threw a fabulous party, and Santa even made an appearance. Grandma/Mrs. Clause put Grace on Sana's lap and the second she looked at him she went flying the other direction. We finally got a picture with grandma holding her. We are blessed with so many family members and we always love a chance to be together. We will miss the Wastlund's during Christmas! But are excited for our trip to Ogden.

Sledding, Snow Angels and Snowmen!

Image
I have lived in Saint George for 12 years now and have only seen snow 3 or 4 times, this time it even stuck! It was fabulous waking up and seeing a world of white. School was canceled and the kids and I were bundled up (it took a while to find anything fit for winter) and headed outside by 9:00. We built a snowman, and then Nancy and the kids came over and we went sledding. We even fit in a few snow angels and some hot chocolate. By 12:00 our snowman had collapsed and the kids were all complaining (Grace really doesn't like the snow!). All I can say is it is a good thing we don't live in Salt Lake. We like the occasional snow shower and visits to snow covered Ogden, but we love our warm St. George.

Now that's what I call too much makeup !

Image
Thank you everyone for all of your concern. I am doing fine! I have a wonderful family that looks out for me(thanks mom and Breckan for the groceries). Our entire family has gone through the flu now, and no one has thrown up since last night. We changed sheets, scrubbed bathrooms and sanitized the house today (we thought that since we were missing church we should at least get our house in order). We have high hopes that we will finish out the year with no more illness...or accidents ! This is the day after picture. Kimball looked at me this morning and said "you look like you are wearing too much makeup" . I am now officially black and blue from my head down to my knees.

The best ward Christmas party ever...Not!

Image
We attended our ward Christmas Party last night. It was Hawaiian themed and our family was dressed for the occasion (thanks to the Mahi Family)and really excited. A few minutes before we left I started feeling sick to my stomach. I willed myself to the party, knowing I had to help get the primary kids up to sing as part of the program. I had only been their about 30 minutes, and I told Garrett I wasn't feeling well and was going home. Well, I made it home began throwing up and must have passed out on the bathroom floor. I woke up with blood running down my face and throw up all over (I know, Gross!). I called Garrett and he ran home. Can I just say I have the best husband ever. He cleaned me up got me in bed (with four blankets and a heat pack because I was freezing...maybe shock.) And wouldn't leave my side the rest of the night afraid of me blacking out again. I now have a good shiner and a super glued gash above my eye along with a swollen knee.

Dance princess

Image
Kimball preformed at the jubilee of trees with her dance company to help raise money for a life flight in St. George. Of Course she was the best dancer in her group, and all of the other girls look to her to follow. I am not a proud mother or anything. She really does love to dance and I can't wait to see her as she gets older. She is excited to show all of her family at our family Christmas program at grandma and grandpa Woodstock's during Christmas. This is your last look at Kimball's long hair, I just whacked 6 inches off.

A Christmas surpise for daddy!

Image
As soon as the kids got home from school we started setting up the tree. We don't normally put it up until Thanksgiving, but they wanted it done before daddy got home from his trip. They were so excited to surprise him. The kids even helped me move the furniture and carry in all the heavy boxes. Jaden is my strong little man. He is so proud that he can lift as much as I can, which I am thankful for because I couldn't have done it without him. After the tree was up and the branches separated , the kids just went crazy looking through all the ornaments and finding all of the ones with their na mes on them. Kody kept on saying "this is the best day ever." It is a tradition that every year the kids each get an ornament with their name and the year on it (I still have all of mine from growing up). they love finding their special ornaments and putting them on the tree (seeing all of mine brings back a lot of great memories ). We played Christmas music and enjoyed bein

Christmas already?

Garrett is Out of town tonight on business. The kids and I thought that since we would be alone for family night, we would set up the tree and surprise daddy. They are so excited! We are going to make it an evening and have Navajo tacos for dinner(one of their favorites), set up the tree and nativity and then have cocoa. I love this time of year, especially since my kids are still at an age that everything about Christmas is magical. I plan on taking a picture (or two :))of the festivities and getting them on my blog. Happy holidays!

My Crazy Life

Although I have only been blogging for a few days now, it has become a very relaxing time out in my life. As most of you know I have just been called as the Primary President. Well, I have not even been set apart yet and have already attended 4 meetings. I came home today from yet another meeting and Kody was almost late for school, grace had a poopy diaper and was screaming to go down for a nap, I walked into the office and found a trail of banana mashed into the carpet, and had messages on my phone from more people needing to talk to me. I almost broke down and started crying. I had to remind myself that my family comes first and then the rest will follow.

Halloween

Image
Mommy got to help in Jaden's class for Halloween. Kody came along to help while he was waiting for Kindergarten to start and had a great time. I can't keep track of all the classes I help in now having three children in school, but the look on their face when I walk into the room makes it all worth it! Grace and I had fun watching the kids walk around the track at the school in their costumes. Kimball has taken a little down syndrome girl under her wing in her class and you see them together a lot at school. It makes me smile to see her always looking out for her friends and choosing the right!

Party Time!

Image
We were partied out by the end of Halloween this year. We had a Halloween carnival at the church, a neighborhood Halloween party, school parade and school parties. Not to mention trick or treating. We did start a new family tradition though. We came home after trick or treating and all watched a scary movie together (well, the Haunted Mansion) and popped popcorn. We had a great time and the kids said they wanted to do it again next year!

I finally did it!

Well, I have finally started a blog- Thanks to the urging of all of my friends and wonderful sister-in-law Krista (who helped me through the process). It is still a work in progress, but I hope this will help me keep in contact with all of my loved ones. I know I will love showing off my wonderful family!
