Insightful talks

In Relief Society on Sunday they read they story of Henry B. Eyring's son being lost and him praying for help. I wondered if that would be my kids first response also. So a few days ago at breakfast I asked Jaden and Kody what they would do if they were ever lost. The conversation went something like this: I related the story to them and then asked... Mom: What would you do if you ever got lost and couldn't find your way back home? Kody: Pray. Jaden: Pray and stay right where I was. Mom: That's good to stay right where you so we can find you easier. But what if the spirit tells you that you need to move somewhere else? Jaden and Kody: We would go. Kody: But what if he say's to go left or right and we don't know which way is left and right? Mom:The spirit knows how old you are and he will give you directions that you will understand. Kody: Maybe he will say " Kody, go left. No!...your other left!" I was laughing hysterically at this point. I love my boy

Pieoneer Day 10K

Image
Daniel and I drove to Enterprise and ran the 10K on pioneer day. Daniel did awesome coming in 22nd over all (48.23 minutes) and winning a medal for his age division. I came in 55 over all (1 hr 5 min) and was just glad to finish. I am so glad for running partners who keep me at it, even on the hard days. Garrett braved it by himself with all 5 kids at our stake pioneer day breakfast and games. Sorry, mom wasn't there to take pictures.

Kody's Birthday

Image
Kody had a breakfast swimming birthday this year (mainly to save mom from the heat). They ate doughnuts, gogurts, chocolate milk and juice. Kody has some great friends and though mom had lots of games planned, they were having so much fun I just let them swim to their hearts content. Happy 7th birthday! Jaden is always by Kody's side. Carson Logan Porter Daniel hand carved this dagger for Kody. He loves it! And nothing can top money from grandma and grandpa!

Swimming lessons

Image
The only thing you can do in St. George over the summer is swim, so here we are again at swimming lessons. Grace even got to join this time, and she is a little fish. I now have to watch her every minute because she thinks she can swim all by herself. Her teacher had to rescue her a few times. She also came out with scares after cutting her leg on the side of the pool when she didn't jump away from the edge far enough. It cut her all the way down the shin and took 5 bandages to stop the bleeding. I was worried she wouldn't jump in again the next day, but I shouldn't have worried. She decided she wanted to jump from the blocks instead! They all passed with flying colors!

My new toy

Taylor Absolutely loves her Jumper. She will bounce for almost 45 minutes completely content, and every time you say "bounce, bounce" she begins giggling and jumping up and down. She has even began to say "bababababa." Look at that happy face! She is now rolling all over the house, and beginning to push with her legs to reach for toys. Another month or so and we will be in big trouble as she begins to crawl.

4th of July

Image
We love spending the 4th With Grandma and Grandpa Wastlund! We had a delicious barbecue. And the kids braved the hot...I mean cold tub. Grace was amazed by the sparklers. And then our favorite part of all, laying on blankets on the front lawn and watching the fireworks. I was actually able to lay with my sweetie this year and felt so grateful to be free as I watched the show and pondered my blessings. Happy 4th of July!

We have finally moved!

Image
This has been the longest most drawn out move ever, but we are finally done! Goodbye Jedora! We will miss our wonderful home, neighborhood, ward and neighbors! Thanks to all our friends for accepting and loving us. And thanks to all who helped with our move and clean up, we couldn't have done it without you! Hello Bloomington Hills house. We have moved in with my parents for a few months until they transfer to Cedar City, and then will be living here for the next six years (maybe forever) until grandpa and grandma are ready to retire. We are so grateful for the guidance of the spirit that led us to this decision and to my wonderful parents for putting up with us for the next few months.
