Young Women Wedding Night

Image
The Mia Maids leaders hosted a temple wedding night.  We borrowed dresses from members of the ward, decorated like a reception complete with cake (thanks to Jennifer Stewart), and the girls were able to model different wedding gowns.  It was a hectic but very fun evening.  I just had to show some pictures after all of the hard work we put in.   our beautiful cake.  It really did match perfectly!  We decorated the tables with wedding pictures and these cute hankie handouts.  The girls also received a packet to fill our with ideals for themselves and their future husbands.  We gave them a picture of themselves in their wedding dress at the end of th night to put in their packets.  This is Sarah Wall she wore my old wedding gown. After all these years, I still love my dress! :) Other than some chaos in the dressing room (we had a few items leftover with no owner at the end) and a very overworked, though amazing mother volunteer. It was a great success!

Happy Easter!

Image
We ended up doing our easter egg hunt the Monday after Easter for family night, because we were too exhausted Saturday after out trip.  This may become a new tradition.  We also had a nice easter lesson and watched the DVD "The Lamb of God."  Grace has watched it once a day every day since, and has so many questions.  Kimball who will never smile for the camera!  Out little black and blue bunny.  She Fell in mommy's shower before we left town and then again in the tub while we were gone.

Knotts Berry Farm

We left Taylor and Grace with the grandparents (both sets...thank you so much!) and took the three oldest kids to Knotts Berry farm. We loved the Radisson  hotel we stayed at just across the street from the park.  It had a huge inner graden, pool, restaurant and fitness center.  We had a room right by the pool and the kids loved the freedom of being able to go to the restaurant and order meals together without mom and dad.  We swam or got in the hot tub every night and morning we were there.  The First night we attended a medieval dinner. Pricey, but a great experience if you have never gone.  We went to the torture chamber before dinner, which was a bad idea. A little to gruesome for my taste, and not something I think my kids will ever forget! Our section cheered for the blue night! The fighting scenes and horses were very impressive.  Dinner was right up daddy's alley, an entire half chicken, ribs, soup, garlic bread and pastry.  All eaten with our hands of course!  Jaden was

She doesn't get much in her mouth, but has to have a fork in hand and do it all by herself.   Taylor loves spaghetti, Life cereal, and apples (peeled and has to have the entire apple).    She hates eggs!

Track Meet

Kimball and Jaden Both won 2nd place in their races in the track meet.  They also competed in the Softball throw.  Mom spent most of the time chasing Taylor in the hot sun.  We were all sunburned by the end of the day!  Jaden also competed in the 400 and did awesome!

Kite Festival

Image
We have had children in school for 6 years now,  and this is our first time attending the Kite Festival.  We had such a great time that I think this will now be a yearly event. Jaden and Kimball performed at the festival and both did great. Their director does an awesome job! Jaden is as always trying to be the center of attention, and if you look close you can see Kimball on the back row. Kimball was also asked to perform two solos and a duet.  I though it was funny that the duet was the tallest and the shortest girl in the choir.  It was hard to hear because they couldn't get the mike close to either of their mouths. Grandma and Grandpa Wastlund were their to help with the kids of course.  And Grandma Woodstock even came to watch the kids perform. We have wonderful, supportive grandparents.
