A Lesson In Love

Image
We were gathered for family council tonight, and Hinckley as usual, was singing and dancing around keeping herself entertained. We were discussing family scripture study, and making it a priority. We were not agreeing on the best time of day for everyone, and the tension was a little high. Suddenly Hinckley spun around, giving herself a giant hug and said "I love myself!"  I locked eyes with Kimall across the room and we both just busted up laughing. The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter when we have family scripture study as long as we are getting it done. That may mean the time changes from day to day as we accommodate the many schedules in our home. By making it happen we show how much we love ourselves and our family members. We need the extra protection the scriptures bring!

Happy Birthday Grandma Wastlund

Grandma always wants to go to Pine Valley, and she couldn't have chosen a more perfect day!  We had taco salad and enjoyed the beautiful COOL weather.  We got a few sprinkles, but not enough to scare us away.  We sure do love this amazing woman!

EFY- SUU in Cedar City

We had to take Jaden out of the BYU EFY session with Kimball because of basketball camp, and transferred him to one in Cedar city later in the summer.  He LOVED it!  I am so grateful the church gives these youth such uplifting opportunities.  He learned so much and made some great friends. He also found out he is quite the ladies man. When I dropped him off, we met a boy in the elevator named Cameron looking for the same room as us.  They ended up being roommates, and I knew immediately these boys would be fast friends. It made it a little easier to leave him.

Another Great year!  It is so fun for our kids to have traditions and look forward to this celebration every year.

Enjoying The Last Days of Summer

We enjoyed a trip to the library and picnic at town square one more time before school started. We love where we live!

Our newest teen!

Kody turned 13 this year and we wanted to make it special.  Kody has never really had his own special day, he is always sharing everything with Jaden.  He has been begging for a few months for a new weight set for Christmas, and said he didn't want any birthday presents so we could put all of our money towards it.  Well, the boys left for a week on a grandma trip, and Garrett and I decided to surprise him with a new weight set.   I think Jaden may have been a little more excited!   We sure do love our sweet, tenderhearted Kody!  He is so kind to everyone around him and is growing so tall and handsome!  Happy Birthday!
