Summer Vacation...Day 1

We started summer off with a splash...literally! We were in the water from noon-5.

We pulled out our wonderful water slide (yes!...it is going to make it through a 3rd summer) and had a great time with Kraig, Brenda and their family in the backyard. We then packed it up and headed for Grandma and Grandpa's pool, for 2 more hours of swimming, sandwiches and sun.

The only casualty of the day was grandma's cell phone. She jumped in the water (clothes and all) and pulled it out of her pocket 5 minutes later.

Summer will continue with a long awaited camping trip this weekend. We were disappointed last weekend after not being able to find a camping site for 50 miles (they are all reserved until the end of September). We crashed grandpa and grandma Wastlund's backyard for some yummy dutch oven dinner. I made some delicious dutch oven beans if I do say so myself :). We will be trying again this weekend in Leeds (the sites are walk in only) and we will hopefully get to tent it in "the real forest" as my boy's say. There are many more adventures to come, but until then...Happy summer to all!
