Aida!!!

Image
Kimball made the lead role in her high school musical "Aida."  She is only a Sophomore and didn't even audition for the part of Aida, but as Nehebka which is a much smaller role.  Grandpa went as her accompanist and said she did amazing! I knew she would make callbacks, because she is so talented, but she was so shocked when they kept having her come in and audition with different characters as Aida.  We waited up until 10:00 for the final cast list to be posted online, and she was Aida!  She is so excited because she fits the character so well and it is a dream roll for her.  The only apprehension we both have is that she will have to kiss on stage.  She is not quite 16, and it is too bad her first kiss will be a stage kiss, but she has very high standards and plans to talk to the director about what she does and does not feel comfortable doing.  She has always said that she will not kiss a boy until after her mission, and that this doesn't count, ...

Electric Theater Grand Opening

Kimball performed with her friend Dawson at the grand opening of the new Electric Theater.  It will be a great new venue to hold performances and lessons.

Grace went to her first Activity day! She even got to start it off with a bang with the entire stake. She is so excited to finally be able to go with all her friends.

Fiddler On The Roof

Kimball was again blessed to be asked to be a part of a wonderful production.  I was so excited because I love "Fiddler On The Roof." It has been a lot less wear on her and I this time around though because she is double cast and only performs about 3 times a week.  She has gained so much experience, and it is great to be able to use all of these experiences during her auditions and on her theater resume.  She auditioned for the part of Nehebka in her High School Musical production of "Aida" two days ago.  She finds out tonight if she made callbacks. Jace came into town for a few days and got to go see Kimball in her play.

Scouts

Image
Jaden and Kody are finally in scouts together!  We wondered if the church would continue with the scouting program after the Boy Scouts of America announced their decision to allow gay leaders.  The church has decided to continue on with the BSA for the time being, and I am hoping my boys can both become eagle scouts before that changes.
