My Second Mother

I love Grandma! We will be so sad when Grandma moves away!

Gracie's First Day of Preschool!

Image
We found a woman that teaches preschool right around the corner from our new house, and I was so bummed when I found out she is impossible to get into. I called anyway and told her I was new in her ward and to let me know if she had any spots come available. Well...she did!!! Mrs. Suzzie is awesome! Grace was nervous, but as soon as she walked into the room the night of the orientation and saw the miniature kitchen she was hooked. She jumped right out of the car this morning and ran in.

Sunset on the Square

Image
I took the four older kids and Kimball's new friend Jillian to "Sunset on the Square" in Downtown St. George last night. So fun! Tons of free raffle prizes (Kimball won concert tickets), water balloon toss, entertainment, dancing and treats. Then they show a movie on the big screen (last night was "A Shark Tale") while everyone relaxes on pillows and blankets. I even got proof that I was there! :) A very fun and inexpensive evening!

Young Women

I told Garrett when we first moved into our new ward that I thought I was going to be called to Young Womens. Well, I called to get Jaden going in his new scout troop, and found out they needed another den leader. After just being released as primary president I thought how wonderful an easy calling like that would be, and kind of volunteered. 3 days later I was called to scouts. I spent days preparing all my scout projects, a "denner bucket", "den doodle", I even sewed a flag for the boys to design. Well, Sunday we spoke in church. I spoke on Mother's and was told by so many people how well I did (3 times by the bishop). The next day I received a call and was asked to meet with the bishop and to bring my husband. Anyone who has been a member of this church very long knows that means something big. Well, I am now 1st counselor in the Young Women's. This Wednesday I held my first and last den meeting (I will be turning over all my new projects to a n...

My favorite toy

Image
Taylor loves this toy! She will sit for almost 30 minutes trying to catch the balls as they go in and out. She has gotten an attitude though and gets very upset when Grace takes her toys away.

Happy Birthday Grace

Image
Look Who's 3! Is potty trained Is going to Preschool Is beginning dance Loves Barbie movies and her brothers and sisters Grandma called and invited everyone to come have dinner and swim at Veyo Pool. I figured that since all the family was getting together we should just celebrate Gracie's birthday a week early. (shhh...no one tell her that) As you can see she loved her presents! Taylor even got some rest, while we partied! Hot dogs over a flame are the best! I think the kids favorite part was catching crawdads with grandpa. Well...the pool was a close second. Taylor was happy with Grandma for a while. And then decided to dip her toes in. She finally decided she just had to get in! And just look at all the cute guys I have in my life.

Happy Anniversary!

5 children, 5 miscarriages, 5 homes and we love each other 5X more than ever! Happy 12th Anniversary!! A BLAST FROM THE PAST: We moved into our first home in 1998 right after our marriage. It was a one bedroom apartment a mile from the college. We bought our first home in 1999 on Arrowhead Trail in Santa Clara. Kimball and Jaden were both born when we were living here. Garrett built this house for us on Robert Circle in 2002. Just a mile form our other Arrowhead home. Kody was born here. We moved across town to Little Valley to be closer to Garrett's work in 2006. Grace and Taylor were both born here. It is now 2010 and we are living In Bloomington Hills. I don't know if there will be any children born here. I guess time will tell...and we have not only time, but eternity! I love you Sweetheart!

Kimball's National Anthem Audition

Kimball Auditioned to sing the National Anthem At the Dixie round up Rodeo. This was her first time auditioning for something and she did such an awesome job! She was chosen as the runner up and will sing if the other girl can't make it. She is a lot braver than I ever was, and this will be a great experience for her as she get's older and begins to audition for other things. We are so proud of you Kimball!

1st day of school!

Image
I forgot to take the kids picture before they left for school, so I had to catch them coming home on the bus ( hence the sweaty, hurry up with this picture looks). Their bus stop is so much fun, the people who live right there have built a bench for the kids to sit on, and were there handing out succors to the kids for their first day. They all reported having a great day, and have already made some good friends! A learn to relax mom lesson: I rushed after back to school night last night to buy supplies for the kids to take the next day, and then spent the entire evening getting them separated and put in the kids bags. The next day when I opened Jaden's backpack after school they were still in it! And guess what all the stress didn't get them to school any sooner! And didn't make one difference to Jaden.

Sunday Afternoons

Image
Garrett and I laid down for a nap, and 30 minutes later Taylor woke up. Jaden came in and got her and said they wanted to take care of her so that we could sleep. I got up a few minutes later and this is what I found. I love my kids! Note that one is in church clothes, one is in a swimsuit, two are in pajamas, and one in regular clothes. Just thought that was funny!

Pine Valley

Image
Every summer we head to Pine Valley to beat the heat. The kids love playing in the river. Grace fell in the first few minutes and from then on stuck to throwing rocks into the clod water. Mom only had one change of clothes. The adults enjoy visiting in the cool air. I asked Kody why he didn't have his shoes on. He said "I'm a hobbit." I had to admit he looked like one so I let it slide. Complete with harry feet and everything! And we can't leave Pine Valley without eating at our favorite steakhouse! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the fun evening!
