Taylor turns 2

Image
Happy Birthday to my sweetie Taylor!  She is out of the crib and into the underwear. I hate potty training, but she is such a smarty pants that I think she will pick it up quick! She loves her brothers and sisters especially her best friend Grace. They are never apart. She loves nursery, pringles potato chips, clementines, reading stories, singing, the trampoline and throwing the ball to the doggy next door. We had all the family over to celebrate both Taylor and Kimball's birthdays. Taylor loves Banana cake!  Homemade Play dough from G&G Woodstock (the best stuff!)  Princess's galore from Kraig and Brenda  A storybook, coloring book and skirt from G&G Wastlund  And Grace just had to buy her these glasses!

What is that smell?!

A weird stench has been lingering in our house the last few days. I thought at first it was the meat I had emptied from the freezer (see my previous post), maybe I hadn't saved it all. I had completely cleaned the house the day before, and I hate it when I can't put a finger on some weird smell. So today I emptied all of the garbage cans in the house. It still got progressively worse throughout the day.  I thought maybe an animal had crawled in the vent and died. My mother in law came over and said it could be natural gas.  They put an additive in so it smells in case of a leak.  So I called Questar Gas, evacuated the house and waited for Garrett and the Gas guy to get here.  No Gas, but as we were checking the storage room something caught Garrett's eye.  Raw chicken he remembered taking out of the freezer and setting on a storage bucket to make room for the 1/8 of a cow we bought a week ago....

Holy Cow!

Garrett recently purchased an 1/8 of a cow for $200. They were local no hormone, grass fed cows and it came all packaged in different cuts of meat. Yummy! Well I went down to the freezer yesterday to get some ground beef out for dinner and it was thawed.  Yes...you guessed it, the freezer wasn't working!  I brought it all to the upstairs freezer. Thankfully most of it was still mostly frozen, but I thought I better cook all of the meat that was completely thawed just in case.  So I made two enchiladas( one for us, one for a neighbor), Beef stew and Spaghetti.  Turns out it was just a temperamental outlet, all fixed, and dinner is now done for a few days!
