Tis Almost the Season

Image
Our family put up our tree yesterday! I am not sure if it was Sabbath appropriate, but we really had fun singing Christmas songs, drinking hot chocolate and eating dad's stove top popcorn together! Yes, I am one stocking short, Taylor's is being embroidered! Kimball is too old for the camera now! Taylor is a little sicky right now :( Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Storytelling Festival

Image
Kimball retold the story "Fanny's Dream" at the storytelling festival at her school and guess what?! She made it to district! We watched her compete at district and she was by far the best in her group. I don't know where it goes from here, but she has a really good chance. Good work Kimball! We will let you know if she goes to state! Update.. She won district!

Turkey Trot!

Image
The three oldest kids and I ran the 1 mile in the turkey trot this year. Actually Kimball sat it out because she hurt her back at dance the previous day. What a fun tradition! Free entrance and raffle tickets with 3 cans of food. There were so many prizes, and the kids won 4 tickets to see Nathan Osmond and Noteworthy at Tuacahn. The leader of the race was the winner of this year's St. George Marathon. The goal was to catch the turkey! We even ran into Angie, Krista's sister, running the 5K. Congratulating each other after a well ran race!

The Baker's Wife

Image
The kids and I went to the preview performance of Daniel's play "The Baker's Wife." This will be the night I take the kids every time because it is free! It's fun to actually have someone in the family close enough to go to performances, and we can't wait for more! God Job Daniel, you did awesome! Kimball has become camera shy the last few months and I can't get a decent picture anymore!

Overdone Popcorn

As I am writing this, all of my children are bundled up playing outside because the house is filled with smoke. Grace decided to pop some microwave popcorn for 84 minutes. Thankfully, we caught it after about 20 when kody came running up the stairs yelling, "fire!" He was immediately followed by a cloud of smoke. From what I hear, the smell could stay in our house for about a week, and the microwave may never be the same. All of this after watching Kimball writing a letter to her grandma, Kody reading a book, Jaden playing piano, and me thinking what a peaceful Sunday we were having!

Projects

Do you ever have so many projects you need to get done, that you feel like you can't do any of them? Well...this is why I am sitting at the computer thinking about them! :)
