Deck the halls...and the baby room!

Image
To begin I just have to say...I am married to superman! :) We have had a busy week, and my poor husband never gets a break when I am nesting. He has already put in shelves under the stairs for me, built two new dressers for the boys room, a dresser for Taylor's room(the new baby), helped me hang all the decorations in the babies room, put up the tree, and is now going to begin working on new bed frames for Kimball, Jaden and Kody. Here are some pictures from our week! The finished product! For family night this week we decorated the house for Christmas. Always ending with hot chocolate! We also took the advice of our general authorities from stake conference, and began a study of the conference talks. The kids each got their own copy of the Ensign (well Grace got a Friend) and a highlighter, and we are studying a new talk every Monday night. True to the promise of our leaders, my young kids were up to the challenge. It was wonderful! Taylor's room... now all we need is Tay...

Daddy Daughter Date!

Image
Being primary president, I got to serve dinner at the activity day girls "Daddy Daughter Date." What a fun night! Garrett had to get Kimball a corsage (a fond memory I have of my dad and I's daddy daughter dates) and they enjoyed a yummy dinner, princess pictures, dancing and dessert. Garrett got a good dose of teenage preparedness, as Kimball would tell him "Dad you are embarrassing me" and get upset as they were dancing. She didn't seem to notice that every other dad out there danced about the same...some even worse. :)

Mother/Daughter Weekend

Image
I let Kimball ditch school last Friday and we drove to Ogden for the weekend. Daniel's high school performed "Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." We got to go see him Friday night and he was awesome!!! The next morning we drove to Provo and threw Katie a baby shower. She is due in four weeks, and we are so excited! She got a ton of cute baby boy things. Katie and I are due 8 weeks apart. Dad do not put this picture on the screen-saver or mom will kill me! :) We then hit the road back to St. George. Thank Goodness for the book on tape that Kimball and I listened to there and back, it was a fun weekend!

Happy Halloween!

Friday was the costume parade at school, and Garrett and I helped out at Jaden's Halloween party. I am still trying to kick this stupid cold. I had to wear a mask the entire time, if I had scrubs I could have just called it my Halloween costume! Katie and Steve came to visit for Halloween. The kids were so excited! We started the morning with a Halloween breakfast. Pumpkin waffles, homemade syrup and eggs and sausage, and then spent the rest of the morning carving pumpkins. Katie and I took the younger three around trick or treating, and I allowed Kimball along with four of her friends to go around the neighborhood together ( I guess we are no fun anymore). Kody wanted to pass out the candy at the door rather than trick or treat, which was fine by mom. He was a great help! Kimball made sure she was home by 8:00 though so the kids could begin their favorite part of Halloween... The Candy trading And our family tradition of hot chocolate and a scary movie. This years pick was ...
