Joe

Experiences from this week:
Joe- Listen to the Video here---> Week 2

We met a guy named Joe. He was actually a referral, we went to find him and the house was for sale and no one lived there. We got in the car and were driving away, and sister Smith said "Do you think we should go knock on that door right there.  It was just a small little thought. We went and knocked on the door and guess who answered the door? JOE, the lovely Joe!  And the first think he said to us was "I converted to your church today."  We both looked at each other.  We knew he had gone to church that day, and he said he had been converted. He was really busy at the time so we got his number, and as we were going back to the car he said "and I think i'm going to get baptized too." We thought, okay sounds good.  It was a great experience to have because the first bit of this week had it's good and bad.  We were in a rut. You have those lows and highs in life. We really learned how you can find good in every trial. Something that you can learn. (A Pine cone just fell:)) There are good things you can see in everything.  There's a quote on our door that says " you can't always change your circumstance, but we can change our attitude about the circumstances." So I've been trying to personally do that this week, and we've had a lot of blessing. We've been working a lot with members trying to get them really fired up.  We're starting a youth activity this week, it's a 4 week big ice cream event, where their trying to build up missionary points for this huge ice cream Sundae party we are doing.  We lost our keys for our apartment for a while, and so we had to climb through the window. Our window became our door, and and we had some great adventures climbing through the window, especially when we didn't have slacks that day.  That was a struggle. But Luckily, Sister Smith last night said "Sister Wastlund, I found the keys." And they were just in the bottom of her purse, which she never puts them their.  Definitely weird things. We also got to us singing a ton this week. We sang every single day, to get into peoples homes, to just knock on peoples doors and bring the spirit. It was so cool to see how countenances changed when we sang to them. Wether it was "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" or we did my grandpa's version of "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" that he had arranged a little while ago.  We're actually singing that at Zone Conference this week.  It's just been neat to recognize the power of music. And we've had some great experiences really feeling the power of our ancestors and future people that will be in our lives that are on the other side of the veil that are just helping us and strengthening us so much.  I've been able to feel my grandma Woodstock helping me in times when I really need it, and she's the perfect person because she was just a go getter attitude and get up of your butt and go and do stuff.  It's been great to feel that strength from so many different places. Both from people at home as well as people from the other side.  I love you guys so much and hope you have a great week.

We are also volunteering in a book shop. Read the Journal entry below
